895 - FIVE MINUTES TO MARS 100x50 cm (2026)
It is one of my favorite works, which I have painted several times over the years, each time enriching it with new characters.
Those who, as children in the ’60s, watched the epic stories of the first space journeys, the Apollo missions and the first Moon landing, may remember how they were lived with a passion and enthusiasm hard to describe today. We truly thought we were very close to the start of a new era, that the doors of the cosmos were about to swing open and that our future would be filled with blazing interstellar rockets. New mysterious worlds awaited us, populated by evil aliens, mysterious creatures and terrifying monsters.
FIVE MINUTES TO MARS wants to tell this: the magical, suspended moment that comes before the discovery of new worlds, new ideas, new characters; where everything is possible, and the only limit is the ability to imagine the fantastic and represent it.
This latest version of FIVE MINUTES was painted in 2026 with acrylic paints and colored pencils on a wooden panel. The work is protected by a satin finish layer.
